My SAAB

My SAAB is a 1998 900SE Turbo Convertible. The color is Amethyst Violet Metallic with Sand Beige leather interior. This color was only available on the convertible. I was worried at first about the color of the car, but being in Seattle, it looks to be a deep charcoal grey most of the time and the purple only comes out in the sun!

The stock 2.0 liter turbocharged engine produces 185hp, and coupled with the 5 speed manual transmission, it really moves. The SAAB Turbo really comes to life at highway speeds, though. In fact, freeway acceleration from 50-70 is faster than a Ferrari Testarossa!

Mine currently has 98000 miles on the odometer, which is low mileage for a SAAB, in fact it's not unusual for SAAB to not need any major engine work for 200000 or more miles! Talk about durability!

Upcoming additions to the site...

On this site, I will be adding sections pertaining to specifics on the 1994-1998 SAAB 900 range (or NG900 or GM900 as SAAB Snobs will commonly refer to them).

These are the SAABs that were sold after GM's partial acquisition of the company. Full GM takeover did not occur until 1999, when the name of the company became just SAAB, rather than SAAB-SCANIA.
